Menstrual Products | Menstrual Cups | The Keeper
Ref: 81
With The Keeper Reusable Menstrual Cup, you can go about your daily activities in virtual freedom from your period! The Keeper is also great for the physically active woman and is a wonderful natural alternative compared to chemically treated disposable tampons and pads!
The Keeper is a natural gum rubber cup that is worn internally, holding (instead of absorbing) monthly menstrual flow and does not contain animal by products! Either cup can be worn safely through the night. To insert the cup, you first hold the cup between your fingers and insert. The cup forms a seal which keeps fluid inside the cup. It will not absorb or disrupt your natural vaginal moisture. It is environmentally friendly to the earth and to yourself! No paper products to throw away month after month. The cup holds one ounce of menstrual flow. (An average woman's entire monthly flow is about 2 to 4 ounces, or so they say!) And it's so comfortable - you need to make sure not to forget you're wearing it! To remove it you simply pinch the bottom of the cup to release the seal, then bear down gently with your pelvic muscles to help move it downward. Remove slowly, slightly tilting the cup, and empty the contents into the toilet. Rinse or wipe and you're ready to reinsert. Between cycles you should wash The Keeper sufficiently with warm water and a mild antibacterial soap or a mild vinegar and water solution. (Do not use harsh chemicals.) Many women find that The Keeper is a very effective solution for protection against that annoying problem - leakage. They use it alone as their sole form of feminine hygiene. Once you try it, you'll learn how often you need to empty it. If you are in a situation where that isn't going to be possible for awhile, you may find that you can get by with just an added panty liner on your heaviest days to compensate for slight leakage if leakage should occur. It is recommended that you use some extra protection (such as a washable cotton panty liner or mini pad) when you are first trying out The Keeper until you learn when you'll need to empty your cup. Once you get use to using The Keeper, you'll know what you personally require. If you have ever had vaginal child birth, order style "A" (for "After" vaginal child birth). If you have had caesarean births only, or no child births, order style "B" (for "Before" vaginal child birth). Style "A" is slightly larger in diameter and the rubber is slightly softer than that of style "B". Besides its comfort and high-level protection, The Keeper is economical. The Keeper costs $35 and has a life expectancy of up to 10 years if maintained properly and used as directed. That makes The Keeper an excellent investment in your health and physical comfort!
